The Fisheries Section works to enhance and protect Delaware’s fish and aquatic resources and is responsible for conducting fisheries research, resource monitoring, and the collection of biological information on marine fisheries. The information collected is then analyzed and used to determine the need for any changes to seasons, size limits or quotas.

Quota Information

ADVISORY: The 2020 oyster season is from April 1 through May 30, and reopens from Sept. 2 - Dec. 31. The total quota for the fishery is 14,978 bushels.
