Man, woman arrested and charged with illegal hunting,
possession of firearms and unlawfully shot game

DOVER (Dec. 29, 2011) – A Middletown woman and a Wilmington man were arrested in southern New Castle County Wednesday and charged with numerous violations of Delaware hunting regulations after a tip to Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement officers from a concerned citizen.

An enforcement officer on nearby patrol made the arrests within 10 minutes of the call’s having been placed, based on a description of the pair provided by witnesses who’d seen them hunting and discharging firearms in the area.

Mark E. Anderson, 52, was taken into custody and arraigned on felony possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, hunting waterfowl with prohibited shot size, hunting in a safety zone, hunting waterfowl without a federal  duck stamp, hunting from a public roadway, hunting without a license, possession of unlawfully killed game, hunting from a motor vehicle, conspiracy in the 3d degree, and hunting waterfowl without a state duck stamp.

He was committed to Gander Hill Prison after failing to post $3,400 bail imposed by the Justice of the Peace Court 11.

Sandra M. Kite, 63, who was arrested at the same time as Mr. Anderson, was issued a summons to appear later in JP Court 9 in Middletown for arraignment on one count of 3d degree conspiracy and one count of hunting from a motor vehicle, with six unlawfully  killed snow geese collected as evidence.
